The Commercial Real Estate Firm of David Z. Mafrige Interests was established in 1989. The firm specializes in the investment of commercial property in the Great Houston are and surrounding regions, as well as in the management, maintenance and leasing of those properties. David Z. Mafrige Interests has been actively involved in over $500 million worth of real estate transactions and has an excess of one million square feet of improved property.

 David Z. Mafrige Interests is dedicated to developing exceptional retail and mixed-use properties. A close-knit group of professionals, combining youthful enthusiasm and seasoned experience, are actively engaged in commercial property marketing. What makes the firm so unique is that all properties in the profile are owned by David Z. Mafrige Interests which allows the customer to have easy access to the decision makers (owners). 

Staff 

David Z. Mafrige, Owner

            David has been in the commercial real estate business for over 20 years. He has knowledge of all areas of the commercial business, including developing, renovating, owing, leasing and managing the properties. He specializes in buying neglected properties and bringing them to profitable condition.

Andrew J. Clark IV, President

            Andrew is in charge of property management of the properties in the portfolio. After graduating from the University of Houston, Andrew worked with a national commercial real estate firm. He joined David Z. Mafrige Interests in 1999. He is a member of several Real Estate Organizations.

Melanie D. Grimes

            Melanie joined the David Z. Mafrige Interests team in early 2007. She is currently pursuing an Associates degree in Business Administration. She is directly responsible for administrative support, accounting and many other office manager duties.

Monique M. Cassata

            Monique has been with David Z. Mafrige Interests since December 2008. She obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 2007 from University of Houston-Main Campus.  As Office Manager her main duties include Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable, lease administration and tenant relations.  Before joining David Z. Mafrige Interests, Monique was in retail management for 4 years.

Jeff P. Kwas

Jeff P. Kwas joined DZMI in 2009 as General Counsel and Head of Business Development and Leasing.  Prior to joining the firm he worked in private practice in East Texas and Houston dealing in matters involving real estate.  Mr. Kwas holds a bachelor’s degree from Henderson State University and earned his juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.  He is licensed to practice in the State of Texas.  He is a member of the Houston Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association and Pi Eta Honors Society.
